A little bit about Buckeye Arizona

Buckeye Arizona Real EstateCommonly called Arizona’s “biggest small town”, Buckeye is home to about 30,000 residents with over 240,000 homes planned currently.  It is projected that Buckeye will explode in population to over 100,000 by 2010 given the size and number of master planned communities within its limits.  Buckeye was founded in 1888 and named for the home state (Ohio) of one of its early residents.  It was incorporated 80 years ago as a 440 acre town, but is surging into the 21st century with a planning area of almost 600 square miles.

Buckeye is located just 35 miles west of downtown Phoenix, and is therefore conveniently located close to employment centers, exciting nightlife, and all of the amenities found in a metropolitan city.  But, it is far enough away to retain a comfortable small town feeling where residents can peacefully enjoy the majestic WhiteTankMountains and a unique and unparalleled landscape.  Buckeye is intersected by five highways, home to a general aviation airport, and serviced by a railroad.  In addition, it sits on the state’s largest untapped groundwater aquifer, insuring growth for decades to come.
